A drizzly summer Wedding, Cheshire - Chris and Charlotte
Almost two years ago I was photographing a wedding and got chatting to a guest, she told me all about her family and said that whenever her daughter got married, I absolutely HAD to be the photographer - she even took a photograph of me to remember me! About a year later I got a call from this very same woman saying that the date had been set for Charlotte and Chris' Big Day and enquiring if I was free - which I'm delighted to say I was!
I didn't meet Charlotte until two weeks before the wedding and I didn't meet Chris until I got to the church on the Big Day itself! I spent the morning with Charlotte and her lovely bridesmaids; they were the friendliest, chattiest, most giggly and giddy bunch of girls I've ever met and were so fun to be around! Charlotte's hair and make-up was absolute perfection and her beaded, lace gown was absolutely incredible - she reminded me of a cross between Galadriel in Lord of The Rings and Khaleesi from Game of Thrones (yes... I'm a geek... Stay with me!)
The details were incredible; she was wearing a stunning vintage watch, her shoes were covered in beads and pearls which matched her totally unique headband. The real show-stopper for me though, was her phenomenal veil. It was floor length and flowing, lined all the way round with lace - absolutely beautiful!
The rain didn't phase anyone - as it shouldn't on the most important day of your life! There were inevitable nerves in the run-up to the I Do's but the instant Chris and Charlotte were named as Husband and Wife there was a sigh of relief and grins all round!
Mr and Mrs Bate had their reception at Warrington Golf Club which is where we did their Couple Shots, they were unbelievably relaxed and natural - even with angry golfers shouting at us for being in the way of their shot... Hole... Goal? I don't know the sport but I know that their green made for a beautiful backdrop for us!
So here are some of my favourite photographs of their Big Day with their fabulously welcoming family, cute little pup (Chris' other princess!), their MEGA First Dance lights and one of the most entertaining wedding cakes I've ever laid eyes on!
