An uber relaxed bbq wedding, chester - Polly and Adam
Earlier this summer I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the wedding of the totally gorgeous Polly and Adam - that's no exaggeration! This pair could literally be models! On the whole run-up to the Big Day Polly warned me of her discomfort towards cameras and her hate and awkwardness of having her photograph taken.. Even now I think she must have just been playing a prank on me!
The ceremony was in Runcorn Town Hall, it really is one of the loveliest registry offices I've ever seen - especially so when the sky is as blue as it was on the morning of Adam and Polly's wedding! Everyone took their place inside in time for Polly's arrival, she got out of the car and the first thing I spotted was her huge, gorgeous smile, then her incredible dress, THEN the veil! People walking by, minding their own business even stopped and stared - she was absolutely beautiful!
Gripping onto her Dad and Mike, her Man of Honour, she got out of the car and calmed herself for the walk down the aisle. Her eyes were glistening and her smile didn't falter, Adam couldn't take his eyes off her: it was like a scene from a film!
After the ceremony (in which there were a lot of tears!) the guests burst into song - All You Need Is Love... Which set Polly off again ❤︎
There was a group selfie with every single wedding guest from Adam (yes, really!), a mountain of confetti per Polly's request, champagne from plastic flutes, gleaming sunshine, a ton of cooing over Baby Tate and endless smiles and giggling before we moved on to The Chesterfields in Mickle Trafford for the reception.
Polly and Adam are so laid-back and relaxed, and this wedding was a perfect reflection of that: there was no table plan or formal sit-down meal, just go where you like and help yourself to the simply delicious BBQ that had been organised whilst the prosecco and beer flowed and the musicians played all afternoon.
Now typically if you'd planned an outdoor wedding you might be a bit disappointed if it started to rain - even though it's supposed to be good luck! Fact of the matter is, I don't think one thing could have wiped the smiles off Mr and Mrs Flood's faces that day. You can literally feel the love and happiness between them within seconds of being in their presence and I could not be more delighted that I got to capture their Big Day.
I guess it just goes to show, all you need really is love!
